Car Accidents

With an estimated 264 million vehicles registered in the United States, car accidents are inevitable. Even experienced and careful drivers can be the victim of a car accident caused by another driver. In 2015, 2,443,000 people were injured in car accidents in the United States, an increase from 2,340,000 car accident related injuries the prior year.

There has also recently been a dramatic and dangerous increase in distracted driving and “driving while texting.” The National Highway Safety Administration reported that 391,000 injury accidents in 2015 were a result of distracted driving. It is important to call for professional help to possibly obtain phone records and preserve them. In some cases, this can lead to the recovery of additional punitive damages.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident, it is important to act immediately. You will no doubt be bombarded with calls and questions from a variety of parties that do not have your best interest in mind. It is important to know who you should speak with and what questions you should answer.
